D. A. Embury stated in the fine art of mixing drinks of all the recipes published for, I have never seen any two that were alike. The Times described the Original Singapore sling Recipe as mixing gin, cherry brandy, orange juice, pineapple juice, and lime juice.
An alternative recipe for Singapore sling used gin, Cherry Heering, Benedictine and fresh pineapple juice, Specially from Sarawak pineapples, which helps in enhancing the flavour and gives a foamy top and texture to the Singapore sling drink.

Singapore sling Drink Recipe:

The Singapore sling recipe is made using Angostura bitters, gin, fresh lemon juice, cherry liqueur, grenadine, Cointreau, Benedictine, and Pineapple juice. This long drink was developed sometime before 1915 by Bartender Ngiam Tong Boon, who was working at the Long Bar in Raffles Hotel, Singapore.

Singapore sling Ingredients:

  • Gin - 1 oz (30 ml)
  • Fresh lime juice - 1/2 oz (15 ml)
  • Angostura bitters - 1 dash
  • Cherry liqueur - 1/2 oz (15 ml)
  • Grenadine - 1 part (10 ml)
  • Cointreau - 1/4 oz (7 ml)
  • Benedictine - 1/4 oz (7 ml)
  • Pineapple juice - 4 oz (120 ml)

Glassware: You can serve a Singapore sling cocktail in a Hurricane glass or any tall glass.

Method: Shaken.

To make a Singapore sling cocktail, simply add all the Singapore sling ingredients into the cocktail shaker along with ice cubes and shake it for 8 to 10 sec until the shaker gets frosted from outside. Pour it into a hurricane or any tall glass.
